The
project of Light Rapid Transit (LRT) construction officially begins. President,
Joko “Jokowi” Widodo accompanied by Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama
and West Java Governor, Ahmad Heryawan conduct the groundbreaking on Jalan
Taman Mini 1, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (9/9).

accelerate the construction, Ahok instructed Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) to
contribute the construction.
“We’ll take it through auction process, probably this September including homestead Athletes project,” he stated.

construction of LRT will be divided into two phases with a total length of 83.6
Km. The first phase will be built with route Cibubur-Cawang, East
Bekasi-Cawang, Cawang-Dukuh.
The next phase will be served route Cibubur
Bogor, Dukuh Atas-Palmerah-Senayan and Palmerah-Grogol with 41.5 km long and
there are 10 stations. The target is around 24 thousand
passengers could be carried per hour.
